The Upload Portal lets you connect an email account and share messages with your legal team. You can search for specific emails one at a time or import in bulk by address, keyword, or date range. This article covers both methods.
The Emails step asks you to select your email provider and sign in.
Step 1: Select your provider
Select your provider: Gmail (Google), Outlook (Microsoft, Hotmail), Yahoo Mail (Yahoo), iCloud Mail (Apple), or Other Email (IMAP).
Step 2: Sign in to your provider
Follow your provider's sign-in prompts. Some providers ask for a special code instead of your password. If yours does, the portal shows you exactly where to find it.
Step 3: Choose a collection method
After connecting, a toast confirms "Email account connected successfully!" and a modal presents two ways to collect emails.
Select Open search to find and import specific emails, or Open bulk import to import everything matching a search at once. You can switch between the two methods at any time using the Find emails and Bulk import tabs.
For instructions on connecting each provider, see How do I authenticate a Gmail account?, How do I authenticate an Outlook account?, or How do I authenticate a Yahoo account?.
Find emails
The Find emails tab lets you search your mailbox and select individual messages or threads to import.
Step 4: Search your mailbox
Type a name, email address, subject, or keyword in the search box and click Search. The message list shows matching results with checkboxes, sender, subject, and date.
Step 5: Preview a message
Click a message row to preview it in the right pane. The preview shows the subject, sender, date, rendered body, and an Import button with a dropdown for importing the single message without selecting its checkbox.
Messages you have already imported show a green check and an Already collected label instead of a checkbox.
Select messages
You can select individual messages by ticking their checkboxes, or use the Select all messages dropdown to choose between Select all on this page and Select all results.
When one or more messages are selected, a bottom bar shows the count (for example, "3 threads selected") with a Clear button and a Submit for Collection button.
Step 6: Submit for Collection
Click Submit for Collection to import the selected messages.
After submitting, a green banner confirms "Successfully submitted N emails for collection." A toast in the bottom right shows Import queued... then Importing emails... with a progress bar.
Advanced Search
Click Advanced Search to open the search panel with additional filters.
The Advanced Search panel includes these fields: Subject Line, Find messages by address (with scope options: Any, Sent to, Received from, CC'd, BCC'd), After and Before dates with preset buttons (1M, 6M, YTD, 1Y, 2Y, 5Y), Folder dropdown (All folders), and a Has attachment checkbox.
Bulk import
The Bulk import tab imports every message matching your filters at once, without selecting individual messages.
Step 7: Find messages by address
Under Find messages by address, paste email addresses one per line or comma-separated (up to 25 addresses per import). Choose a scope: Any, Sent to, From, CC'd, or BCC'd.
Step 8: Search by keywords
Under Search by keywords, enter keywords one per line or comma-separated.
Step 9: Search within folders
Under Search within folders, select specific folders or leave empty to search all.
Step 10: Set a date range
Under Date Ranges, choose a preset (All time, 1M, 6M, YTD, 1Y, 2Y, 5Y, Custom) or set custom From and To dates.
Step 11: Review the summary
Review the summary line at the bottom (for example, "IMPORTING 3 addresses (any field), any content, all folders, last month").
Step 12: Click Import
Click Import to start.
While an import is running, the button changes to Import in progress... A toast shows the progress.
You can click Import Entire Mailbox at the top of the Bulk import tab to import every message in the account without any filters.
Import history
Click Import history (next to the tabs) to see a log of every import you have run for this account.
Each row shows the import type ("By thread" or "By search"), the number of emails, a timestamp, and a status pill (Importing... or Imported). Expand a row to see the full count of emails and threads imported.
Move to the next source
After your first successful import, a modal confirms the source is ready.
When you are done sharing emails, click Next source in the header to move on. You can revisit any step later.
Connect another account
To import emails from a second account, click Change next to the account address shown at the top right of the email workspace. Connect the new account and repeat the search or bulk import process.
