How do I authenticate a Yahoo account?

Create a Yahoo app password and connect your account through the Upload Portal.

Authenticating your Yahoo account requires creating an app password in Yahoo, then entering it in the Upload Portal. This process does not require a computer and can be completed on a phone.

If you already have a Yahoo app password, skip to Step 6.

Yahoo does not support standard OAuth sign-in for IMAP connections. You need to create an app password first.

Step 1: Log in to your Yahoo account

Go to https://login.yahoo.com/myaccount/security and log in to your Yahoo account.

Step 2: Open External connections

After authenticating, the portal confirms your account is connected and presents two collection methods: search for individual emails or import in bulk.
