This article shows the steps to upload your LinkedIn direct messages to the account holder. We cover how to select your LinkedIn export file, choose specific conversations, and complete the upload through the Hearsay Extractor.
Complete these steps before starting
Before beginning your LinkedIn upload, make sure you've completed the following:
Step 1: Open the Hearsay Extractor
Open the Hearsay Extractor application that you downloaded to your computer. Enter the extraction code into the application and click Enter.
Step 2: Select Non-Phone Source
Click Extract from Non-Phone Source.
Step 3: Select the platform
Click LinkedIn.
Step 4: Click Continue
The Extractor displays instructions for requesting your LinkedIn data export. If you've already downloaded your data, click Continue.
Click Continue.
Step 5: Select the LinkedIn export file
Click Browse for File and select your downloaded LinkedIn export file.
Select the file with Complete in the name — this is the full data export from the second LinkedIn email. Do not unzip the file before uploading. Click Open.
Step 6: Confirm file detection
When the file is detected, click Continue.
Step 7: Select data to share
The Extractor displays a summary of all data types in your LinkedIn export. To share specific message threads, click Choose Conversations next to Messages.
Choose Conversations
Use the search bar to find conversations by contact name or conversation title. Select the conversations you want to include, then click the Confirm button.
Step 8: Share selected data
Review your selections on the summary page, then click Share Selected Data.
Step 9: Wait for upload to complete
Once you click Share Selected Data, the import will begin.
After the import completes, you'll be redirected to the Hearsay Extractor home screen. You can click Share New Conversations to upload additional LinkedIn data, start a new collection by clicking + New Device, or click Exit Case when you're finished.
