The Hearsay Extractor is a desktop application for Windows and Mac that collects text messages, call logs, photos, and app data from mobile devices. Follow the Windows (PC) section or the Mac section below.
Windows (PC)
Step 1: Go to the download page
Go to portal.usehearsay.com/download and click Get started.
Step 2: Choose Windows
Select Windows and click Continue. You need Windows 10 (64-bit) or later.
Step 3: Download the installer
Confirm you have at least 5 GB of free disk space, then click Download for Windows.
Step 4: Open the downloaded file
Double-click the downloaded file to begin installation. You can open it from your browser's downloads bar or from your Downloads folder. If Windows SmartScreen appears, click More info, then Run anyway.
Step 5: Complete the installation
When prompted, select Only for me, then click Install. After the installation finishes, click Finish.
Step 6: Complete the checklist
Back on the download page, tick each checklist item, then click Continue.
Step 7: Open the Hearsay Extractor
Click Open Hearsay Extractor on the download page, or double-click Hearsay Extractor on your desktop or in the Start menu. If your browser asks permission to open the app, click Allow.

Mac
Step 1: Go to the download page
Go to portal.usehearsay.com/download and click Get started.
Step 2: Choose Mac and your chip
Select Mac, then Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) or Intel (Macs from before 2021), and click Continue. You need macOS 12 or later.
Not sure which chip your Mac has?
Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen and select About This Mac. If the first row says Chip with Apple M1, M2, M3, or M4, choose Apple Silicon. If it says Processor with Intel, choose Intel.
Step 3: Download the installer
Confirm you have at least 5 GB of free disk space, then click Download for Mac (Apple Silicon) or Download for Mac (Intel). If Safari asks whether to allow downloads, click Allow.
Step 4: Open the downloaded file
After the download completes, double-click the .dmg file to begin installation.
Step 5: Move to the Applications folder
Drag the Hearsay Extractor icon into your Applications folder. This step is required; the app will not work if you launch it from the download file.
Step 6: Complete the checklist
Back on the download page, tick each checklist item, then click Continue.
Step 7: Launch the Hearsay Extractor
Click Open Hearsay Extractor on the download page, or open your Applications folder and double-click Hearsay Extractor. If macOS asks for permission, click Open. If your browser asks permission to open the app, click Allow.
