Individual with Your Own Account (No Law Firm Account)

For individuals whose attorney referred them to Hearsay and asked them to create their own account to complete a collection.

This article explains how to create your Hearsay account, set up your collection, and securely share your messages. Use this process if your attorney directed you to Hearsay but did not send you an extraction code.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Go to portal.usehearsay.com/register and follow the prompts to create your account.
You'll use this account to manage your own collection and share it with your attorney once complete. You can sign back in any time at portal.usehearsay.com/login.

Step 2: Create a Case and Extraction Code

Once logged in, you'll create a new case and generate your extraction code to begin collecting your messages.

For a detailed walkthrough, see How to create a case and data collection request.

Step 3: Run Your Collection

Open the Upload Portal: from the Collection Requests page, click the "Portal" button next to your data request — or go to upload.usehearsay.com and enter your extraction code.

Follow these guides to complete your collection:

Step 4: Review Your Uploaded Messages

After your upload completes, your messages will appear in your Hearsay account.

To learn how to review, tag, and organize conversations, see How to review phone data and How to use review tools.

Step 5: Export Conversations or Tag Reports

When you're ready to export data, see How to export data.

Exports include full conversation records, metadata, and tagged message reports for use in discovery or production.

Next Steps

You can repeat this process for additional devices or data sources, such as Facebook Messenger, Instagram, or email.
