Compare two or more conversations side by side to cross-reference timelines, identify overlapping messages, or review evidence across data sources.
Step 1: Open the comparison tool
Open a conversation in Case Data and click the View Settings menu in the toolbar. Select "Compare with another conversation" at the bottom of the menu.
Step 2: Select a conversation to compare
A searchable list of conversations from the current data source appears. Each conversation shows its message count. Click a conversation to add it to the comparison.
Step 3: Review the comparison
The Conversation Comparison view displays both conversations in parallel columns with synchronized timestamps. Scroll to review messages across both timelines.
Filter by date range
Use the Start Date and End Date fields to narrow the comparison to a specific date range. Click Filters for additional filtering options.
Add more conversations
Click "+ Add conversation" to compare additional conversations. Select a messaging source — iMessage/SMS, WhatsApp, Email, or Facebook — to browse conversations from that source.
The comparison updates to show all selected conversations. Use the date range and filter controls to focus on the messages relevant to your review.
