Collecting social media data. You select your platform, download or locate your data file, and upload it using the Hearsay Extractor.
Open the Upload Portal
Open the upload portal by clicking "Get Started" in the case invitation email, or by going to upload.usehearsay.com and entering your extraction code.
Step 1: Select a platform
On the Social Media step, select the platform you want to collect from.
Step 2: Choose your file status
After selecting a platform, the portal walks you through requesting a data export. For detailed download instructions, see the article for your platform:
Step 3: Download and open the Hearsay Extractor
Once your data file is ready, download and open the Hearsay Extractor on your computer. You need to switch to a Mac or Windows computer for this step.
Step 4: Enter your extraction code and select a platform
Enter the extraction code shown on the Upload Portal.
Click Extract from Non-Phone Source.
Select the social media platform, browse for your data file, and choose the conversations you want to share. The exact steps and button names differ by platform; see the detailed article for yours:
Step 5: Select your data file
Browse for the data file you downloaded from the platform.
Step 6: Search, select, and share
Search for conversations by contact name or keyword(s). To upload a conversation, check the box next to the contact name. Once all the relevant conversations are selected for upload, click the Share conversation button.
After uploading, switch back to the Upload Portal. If you have data from additional platforms, select another platform and repeat the process, or click Next source to continue.
