This article is for whoever is running the phone collection using the Hearsay Extractor.
The extraction backup has to be written to a local drive: your computer's internal disk or a drive plugged directly into it. If your computer is short on space, choose an external drive during setup. A finished backup can be moved to a cloud-synced folder afterwards, but a cloud folder cannot be the backup destination itself.
Step 1: Click Browse
On the Select Backup Location screen, under Select Alternate Location, click Browse.
Step 2: Select the drive
Select the external drive or folder and click Open. An external SSD works best; flash and thumb drives are supported but slower and more prone to errors.
Step 3: Start Backup
Once the screen shows enough space, click Start Backup.
