How to tag messages

How to tag messages, emails, and files during review to organize evidence for searches, exports, and reports.

Tag messages, emails, and files during review to organize evidence by topic, issue, or relevance. Tags are saved at the case level and available across searches, exports, and reports.

Tag a phone or social media message

Click a message in a conversation to select it. The Evidence Panel opens on the right showing the message text, Tags, and Comments.

Click a tag to apply it, or type a new tag name and press Enter. Applied tags appear next to the message in the conversation view and in the Evidence Panel.

Tag an email

Open a collected email. The Tags on This Conversation section shows tags applied to the entire email thread. Click a tag to apply it, or type a new tag name in the "New tag..." field and press Enter.

To tag an individual email, click it to open the Evidence Panel. Apply tags in the Tags section.

Tag a file

Click the Files tab in a data source to view collected files. Click Tags at the bottom of the file list to open the tagging panel.

Select a file to preview it. Tags appear below the preview alongside Download, Comments, and Snip.

Tag messages in bulk

Click Bulk Tag in the toolbar. Select a tag from the "Select a Tag to Apply" dropdown, or create a new one.

Click messages in the conversation to apply the selected tag. A tag count appears next to each conversation in the sidebar.

Click Done when finished.

Tag by keyword search

Type a keyword in the search bar to find matching messages within a conversation. The result count shows how many messages match (e.g., "1 of 3 results").

Click "Tag All [N] Results" to select tags for all matching messages. Choose the tags to apply and click Apply.

Confirm the action to apply the selected tags to all matching messages at once.
