What happens after you share phone data or social media
After you select and upload conversations through the Hearsay Extractor, the selected messages and media are sent to the account holder's secure portal. Only the data you selected is shared.
What happens after you share emails, files, bank records, or AI chat history
When you import emails, upload files, connect bank records, or upload AI chat exports through the portal, your data is delivered to the same secure portal. The account holder can review, search, and export everything you shared from their account.
If the account holder set up a Pre-defined Search & Share collection for your email, the searching and selecting may already be handled for you. Your legal team controls who can view or access the shared data.
Can I highlight messages for my lawyer?
You cannot highlight or annotate messages from the Hearsay Extractor or the upload portal. Messages need to be in the account holder's portal before your legal team can highlight or take notes on them.
Can my legal team ask me to review or tag messages?
Your legal team may ask you to review shared messages in one of two ways.
They export a copy of the shared messages for you to review and mark up as a document or PDF.
They add you to their account as a client user, which gives you access to view shared threads and add tags or comments online. You receive an email invitation from the platform in this case.

What if I have my own account?
If you created your own Hearsay account without going through a law firm, or your firm asked you to sign up on your own, your uploaded data is accessible only to you. You can log in at portal.usehearsay.com to view or export your data at any time. You can also invite your legal team to review and annotate the uploaded data by adding them to the case.
