The Hearsay Extractor runs on Mac and Windows computers. If you only have a Chromebook, a tablet, or a phone, this article covers your options.
What does not work
Chromebooks are not compatible with the Hearsay Extractor.
The Extractor cannot run on a phone or tablet.
Public computers, such as library computers, usually do not allow software to be installed.
Use another computer
Any Mac or Windows computer you can install software on will work. The backup is saved locally on that computer, and you can delete it once your upload is complete. See How to delete an extraction backup.
Request a rental laptop
A pre-configured rental laptop can be shipped to you for the collection. The Laptop Rental is ordered and approved by the account holder who sent your extraction code, so let them know you need one.
