The AI Chat History step in the Upload Portal lets you upload exported conversations from ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. This article covers uploading a Gemini export.
Before you start, make sure you have downloaded your Gemini export file. See How to download Gemini chat history if you need help.
The step heading reads "Choose the AI platform your conversations are on, then upload the export."
Step 1: Select Gemini
Under 1 · SELECT WHICH AI PROVIDER, select Gemini (Google).
Step 2: Get your export if you do not have it yet
Under 2 · UPLOAD YOUR GEMINI EXPORT, a box reads "Don't have your Gemini export yet? We'll walk you through requesting it." It notes that Google typically sends the file within minutes to a few hours. Click Show me how to open in-portal download instructions.
Step 3: Upload your export file
Drag and drop your .zip file into the drop zone, or click to browse. The drop zone reads "Drop your Gemini export here, or browse your files" and accepts .zip up to 500 MB.
While the file uploads, a progress bar shows "Uploading..." and then "Registering file...". When it finishes, the panel shows a green checkmark and "File submitted!" with the message "Your file has been submitted for processing. It will appear in your collection once processing is complete." The provider card now reads Uploaded, a Previously uploaded list appears below the panel, and an Upload another button lets you upload a further export.
How it works
The How to Share AI Chat History modal explains the two-step process: export your history from the provider, then download the file and upload it here.
Continue your collection
Use Skip source in the header, or the step dropdown next to the step counter, to move to the next source. You can come back to this step at any time.
