Use the Find Existing Backup option to sync a phone backup that was completed on a different computer or moved to an external drive, so you can continue sharing or uploading messages without running a new collection.
Step 1: Open the Hearsay Extractor and click Find Existing Backup
On the Extractor home screen, click Find Existing Backup below the Enter button. This opens the window to locate your saved backup.
Step 2: Click Browse to select the backup location
In the pop-up window, click Browse next to Select backup location to open your file browser.
Step 3: Locate the backup folder
Navigate to the folder containing your completed backup. If it's on an external drive, select that drive from the sidebar, choose the correct folder, and click Open.
Step 4: Click Connect
The Extractor will display any available devices found in that backup folder. Click Connect to sync it.
Step 5: Click Share New Conversations
Once the device connects, click Share New Conversations to upload messages.
